Drain Shift Services (UK) Ltd - Health & Safety Policy
This Policy statement is issued in accordance with the obligation under Section 2(3) Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to prepare a written policy statement; and the obligation under Regulation 5(2) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 to record arrangements for the effective planning, organisation, control monitoring and review of health and safety preventative and protective measures.
The Directors of Drain Shift Services (UK) Ltd. Recognize their legal and moral obligations to look after the Health and Safety of his work force and all others who could be affected by the company's business.

In order to meet their obligations, the Directors insists that all work-force fully co-operates in attaining the highest standards of Health and Safety and that they themselves also carry some responsibility, the level of which will depend on the position that they hold within the company.

The general workforce will ensure that they carry out their duties in accordance with the Management instructions, that they appropriately use the safety equipment provided and that they look after that equipment to the best of their ability. They will also ensure that any defect in plant and equipment that they are aware of and which in their opinion is likely to affect the safe operation of the same is notified immediately to the manager and not used until told otherwise by the manager. There is to be no fooling about at work, each individual being responsible to some extent for his own safety and that of others who may be affected by his or her acts or omissions.

Site Management are to be responsible for ensuring so far as is reasonably practical that instructions given to the workforce will not jeopardise the Heath and Safety of the workforce or any other persons that could be affected by the companies operations. That any defect of plant and equipment which comes to the Managers attention is properly considered and that whatever action is decided upon has taken into account, so far is as reasonably practical, the Health and Safety of the operator. Site Managers will be responsible for ensuring at site level, by continual monitoring that all work is conducted in a manner which will not so far as is reasonably practical, endanger any persons Health and Safety.

Directors/Managers will ensure that work is pre-planned to take into account the Health and Safety of the workforce and any other person who is likely to be affected by the companies operations. They will also ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, the provision of plant and equipment in good working order, which will enable the workforce to carry out their duties safely.

General Note

Accompanying this general statement are more specific instructions for all employees regardless of what position they hold within the company. The Directors of Drain Shift Services (UK) Ltd expect them all to be complied with.
